Charles Davis, Sr.

Charles Ray Davis Sr. was born March 1944 in Clarksville, Texas to Amos Davis and Esterlene (Trimble) Davis.  He passed away in Tyler, Texas on Sunday, January 24, 2016.

 

He graduated from Clarksville High School, Clarksville, Texas.  He was an ordained Elder at First Church of God In Christ in Mount Pleasant, Texas and Former Pastor of New Zion Church of God In Christ in Cason, Texas.  He enlisted in the United States Navy and received and honorable discharge.  Charles was self employed, and was the former owner of a Taxi Cab and Furniture Business. 

 

He was preceded in death by his father, Amos Davis, mother Esterlene (Trimble) Davis and sister Francis Davis, and niece Sue Davis.

 

 He leaves to cherish his memory and to celebrate his life his wife Varnasa Ann Davis of Mount Pleasant, Texas; three sons and two daughters-in-law Nasim and Chakera Davis of Los Angeles, California, Randy Eugene and LaKeshia Woodson of Dallas, Texas, Charles Ray Davis II of Mount Pleasant, Texas; six grandchildren; one niece Willie Mae Barrett, of Mount Pleasant, Texas; two nephews Ronnie Davis, of Mount Pleasant, Texas, Robert Davis of Milwaukee; three great nephews Maracicia Davis, of Tyler, Texas, Christopher Davis of Mount Pleasant Texas, Adrian Davis of Greenville, Texas; two great nieces LaTerika Davis of Longview, Texas, Nadia Barrett, of Mount Pleasant Texas; cousin Euela Wooten, of Mount Pleasant Texas :spiritual daughter Myia Taylor of Mount Pleasant, Texas and a host of cousins, other relatives and friends.
