David Terry Rhymes “Bam Bam” was born April 15, 1955 in Mt. Pleasant, Texas to Ollie and Christine (Brannon) Rhymes.  He passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 19, 2017 in Dallas.

David was a graduate of MPHS Class of 1973 and attended Wiley College in Marshall where he pledged Omega Psi Phi.   He met and married Sharon Bible and became the father to Corey, Bilshanda and Brandon.  In his early years, he was a member of the Sunset Baptist Church, Mt. Pleasant.  After relocating to Dallas, he reaffirmed his faith and joined Love of God Church under the leadership of Apostle ArTerry Benjamin.  While there, he was the Superintendent of Sunday School.   As his faith grew and flourished, he was a faithful witness for Jesus Christ.  He loved football and was named First Team All-District Linebacker for Mt. Pleasant High School in the fall of 1972.  He was a Self-employed Independent Contractor in Dallas and the surrounding area.  He worked until his health failed.  He never met a stranger and was always willing to testify to the goodness of the Lord. 

David was preceded in death by his mother and father; his grandparents Griffin and Emma Brannon, Mary and Benny Rhymes; his brothers John Henry Haynes, Larry Joe Haynes, Bennie Earl Rhymes, his uncle Thomas Brannon.

He leaves to cherish his memories twelve grandchildren and one great grandchild; one brother Stacey Rhymes of Kansas City, MO; four sisters Barbara Bowie of Kansas City, Mo; Marie Davis of Dallas, Texas; Benita Turner of Fairbanks, Alaska, Linda Autrey and her husband Roland of Dallas, Texas; two aunts Shirley Brannon of Mt. Pleasant, Texas and Jearlene Standback of Dallas, Texas; special niece Laticia Davis of Dallas, Texas; special nephews Edmund Turner of Mt. Pleasant, Texas; Abrahm Turner and Justin Morris both of Dallas, Texas and a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
