Gloria Yvonne Hardiman was born August 22, 1935 in Kilgore, Texas to George W. and Era Mae (Sansom) Johnson. She passed away peacefully, with her family by her side, on April 18, 2016 in Dallas, Texas.
Mrs. Hardiman was a graduate of Douglas High School, Pittsburg, Texas, and received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Education from Prairie View A&M, Prairie View, Texas. She was a member of the Omaha First Baptist where she served as Church Clerk. She also served as Treasurer for the Cypress District Association.
Mrs. Hardiman was a member of the Retired Teachers Association and served on the Housing Authority Board. She was a School Teacher in the Daingerfield Independent School District and retired after 33 years of service.
She was preceded in death by her father and mother; her husband Richard C. Hardiman; two brothers George W. Johnson, II and Douglas Tyrone Johnson.
She leaves to cherish her memory and to celebrate her life two daughters and sons-in-law Richaes and Keith Hanks of Dallas, Texas; Renay and Tommie Smith of Naples, Texas; four grandchildren Jessycah Smith Carroll and her husband Leslie Carroll of Bryan/College Station, Texas; Jarvis Smith, Janzelle Smith and Jayden Smith all of Naples, Texas; her aunt Hazel Fowler of Dallas, Texas; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
