Mary Edna Wooten Miller was born in Mt. Pleasant, Texas to Artesia and Wilbur Wooten.  The second of four children:  Arthur, Doris (Crabtree) and Dorisula (Hawkins).

She attended school in Mt. Pleasant and is a 1955 graduate of Booker T. Washington High School.  During her employed years, Mary owned and operated Mary's Beauty Salon, worked as a clerk for SWEPCO for 15 years, and was employed in the 21st Century Program at Annie Sims Elementary with Mt. Pleasant ISD.  She also volunteered as an academic mentor at Frances Corprew Elementary School.

Mary was preceded in death by her husband Eugene Miller; Son, Rickey Eugene Miller; Parents, Wilbur & Artesia Wooten; Brothers, Arthur Wooten & Booker McGill; and one sister, Doris Crabtree.  

Mary leaves to cherish her memories, daughters, Patricia (Ron) Cornelius, Shearlyn Best, LaWyanda (Joe) Prince;  Grandchildren, Rodney Cornelius, Dr. Melani (Calvin) Sanders, Marcus Best, & Jaire Miller;  She was also blessed with a great extended family which includes Six Grandchildren, Nine Great-Grands and Six Great-Great Grands;  sister Drs. Dorisula (Howard) Hawkins;  Brothers-in-law, Billy Jack (Jewel) Miller & Ralph Crabtree; Sisters-in-law; Erma Miller, Euela Wooten, Glenda Miller, Joann Miller, Velma Miller, & a host of nephews, nieces, relatives and friends.
