Tyronus M. Brooks

Tyronus Mundreco Brooks was born August 27, 1972 to Gwendolyn Brooks and Kenneth Grundy.   Mr. Brooks died Saturday, July 1, 2017 in Mt. Pleasant. He was affiliated with the Sunset Baptist Church, Mt. Pleasant, Texas and was a graduate of Mt. Pleasant High School Class of 1991.  Tyrone, from his youth up loved sports.  He excelled in little league baseball and received numerous homerun trophies and MVP trophies.  In high school he was MVP for football in 1990, MVP for track in 1991 and most athletic in 1991.  He was a State Shot Put Champion in the years of 1989-90 and 1990-1991.  He went on to attend Kilgore College where in 1992 he received All American and All Conference Honors in Football .  In 1993 he attended Texas Tech University where he received defensive player of the week in 1993.  He was employed at US Steel in Hughes Springs, Texas until 2009 when his health failed him.

 He was preceded in death by his father Kenneth Grundy; son D'Terrian Tyre Brooks; grandmother Margretta Brooks; grandparents Robert and Rhodessa Grundy; uncle Billy Brooks; uncles Robert Louis, Roy, Tommy and Morris Grundy; aunts Loucretia Grundy High and Georgia Mae Grundy Thompson; his cousin Keris Brooks; several great aunts and uncles.

He leaves to cherish his memory his parents Gwendolyn Brooks Harvey and Donnie Harvey of Mt. Pleasant, Texas;  his son TyDarious D’Andre Brooks of Mt. Pleasant, Texas; his wife Adrienne Savage Brooks of Talco, Texas; grandparents John and Angela Brooks of  Mt. Pleasant, Texas; uncles and aunts Perry and Donna Brooks of Mt. Pleasant, Texas; Lavean and Stacey Brooks of Little Elm, Texas; Mary Grundy of Mt. Pleasant, Texas; Elva Harvey Wright of Bonham, Texas; Mary (Brooks) and Joe Castorena of Mt. Pleasant, Texas; great great aunt Lelar Brooks Hardimon of Greenville, Texas, great aunts Jo Ella Thornton and Grace Mosley both of Mt. Pleasant, Texas; Clara Harper of Spokane, Washington, Erma J. McGill and Mae McGill both of Mt. Pleasant, Texas; Beatrice McGill of Garland, Texas; Flora McGill of Naples, Texas; Margaret Brooks of Mt.
