Eddie Gene McGill

Eddie Gene McGill was born April 4, 1950 in Mt. Pleasant, Texas to Johnnie Lee and Erma Gene (Mosley) McGill.  He was peacefully called home on April 24, 2024.

Eddie, graduated from Booker T. Washington High School, Mt. Pleasant, Texas, Class of 1968 and where he excelled in basketball.  He was a member of Sunset Baptist Church and was a US Army Veteran where he served as a Medic.  Eddie loved working on cars and was a diehard fan of Dallas Cowboys and San Antonio Spurs.  He believed in working hard and was an example of a dedicated and committed employee.  He loved his family and was an excellent provider.

He was preceded in death by his father Johnnie L. McGill and his sister Elizabeth McGill.  

He leaves to cherish his memories his wife of 50 years Ava McGill of Dallas, Texas; his mother Erma G. McGill of Mt. Pleasant, Texas; his children Eddie (Tanika) McGill of Houston, Texas, Christian McGill of Atlanta, GA, Labreshia McGill of Dallas, Texas, Sherita (Nachon) Benn of Arlington, Texas, Edwin (Nicole) Hill of Dekalb, Texas; 12 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; sisters Johnnie Ruth Powell, Helen Aikins, Teressie (Victor) Dudley, Frances Justice all of Mt. Pleasant, Texas, Johnnie Ford of Euless, Texas; and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts Clara Harper of Washington State, Joella Thornton of Ft. Worth, Texas; uncles Otis McGill of Denver, CO,  Louis McGill of Sulphur Springs, Texas; numerous cousins, other relatives and friends.
