Ja'Cory Donta' Chism

Ja’Cory Donta’ Chism was born in Mt. Pleasant, Texas on January 5, 1984 to Kerwin and Jackie M. (Chism) Aikins. 

Cokey, as he was fondly known by his family and friends, was a graduate of Mt. Pleasant High School, Mt. Pleasant, Texas, Class of 2002.  He was a veteran of the United States Navy.  He was the Activity Director at the Lodge Assisted Living and Memory Care.

He was preceded in death by his sister Candice Aikins Gatson, grandfather Richard Chism, uncle Ricky C. Watson, aunt Jennifer Chism Ivery, cousin Aqulius White. 

He leaves to cherish his memories his father and mother Kerwin and Jackie Aikins of Glenn Heights, Texas; sister Renonda Williams also of Glenn Heights, Texas; his grandmothers Gladys Chism, Patsy Aikins and grandfather Weldon Wilkerson all of Mt. Pleasant, Texas; sister's Dominique Chism and Icis Ivery both of Mt. Pleasant, Texas; uncles Harold W. (Tammy) Watson, Stevie Chism, Larry Aikins, Durrell Wilkerson; aunts Debbie Turner Watson, Dureen (Earnest) Fuller, Jennifer (Eddie) Jordan, Jolanda (Keith) Turner; great uncle Melvin Chism; great aunts Betty Young, Linda Chism Roberson, Maggie Traylor, Peggy Donaldson, Margaret Pruitt; brother-in-law Xavier Gatson; nieces Zyana Gatson, Zariah Ivery and Unique Diamond Williams; nephew Brandon Dowell Jr.; godson Cordae Williams; special cousins Shayla Norman and Mattie Traylor; godmothers Ingra Dunn Roberts-Stephens and Stacey Brooks; best friend Milton Graves; special childhood friends Ricardo Martinez, Midy Hurndon, Sherita Benn, Alexis Ford; and a host of cousins, other relatives and friends.
