Bartell Justice was born in Mt. Pleasant, Texas on September 23, 1936 to Morris Sr. and Alma (Attaway) Justice.   He was a member of the St. Paul A.M.E. Church where he served on the Steward and Trustee Board.  He retired from Swepco after over 40 years of service. 

He was preceded in death by his son Timmy Justice; his parents; four brothers Samuel Justice, Marvin A. Justice, Tommy J. Justice and Boyd Justice; one sister Mattie L. Ross.

He is survived by, his wife, Hazel Justice of Mt. Pleasant, Texas; two sons and daughter-in-law Bobby and Jean Justice of Garland, Texas; Victor Justice of Mt. Pleasant, Texas;  his daughter Tammy Justice Dixon of Mt. Pleasant, Texas; stepsons Terry Gaston of Texarkana, Texas; Cleon Gaston, of Mt. Pleasant, Texas; Adolphus Gaston of Longview, Texas; Alton Gaston, Johnny Gaston and Wylie Gaston  all of Mt. Pleasant, Texas; Tyrone Gaston of Queen City, Texas; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren;  three sisters Alma Tumey, Jewel Moore and Bobbie A. Morgan; one brother Morris Justice, Jr. all of Mt. Pleasant, Texas; sister-in-law Etta Justice of Dallas, Texas;  and a host of  nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
