Charlie Marie Payne

“To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:”- Ecclesiastes 3:1

Charlie Marie was born in the community of Hickory Hill in the Pittsburg, Texas area to the parents of Ernest and Frances (Embers) Williams.  She attended the Pittsburg schools.

Charlie professed her faith in Christ uniting with Sunset Baptist Church where she served in the Choir, in Mission and Hospitality departments.  She was a faithful member until her health began to fail. 

On the third day of October 2018, Charlie transitioned from labor to reward.  She was preceded in death by her parents Ernest and Frances Williams, her husband Lloyd Payne, two sons Willie Clyde Payne and Billy Jewel Davis; a sister Lucille Burl, two brothers James Paul Williams and Horace D. Williams, a nephew Richard Garrett.

She leaves to cherish her memories four daughters and two sons-in-law Wanda Jean Payne, Shirley Ann Brown, Donna Marie and Perry Brooks, Frances and Tony Hooks all of Mt. Pleasant; one son Larry Joe Davis of Mt. Pleasant; her ten grandchildren Telesa Morgan, Felicia Owens, Tony Payne, Jerry Glenn Brown, Ashley Brown, Ken Davis, David Davis, Tina Davis, Sheniqua Brooks, Skylar Sha’ree Godfrey; a host of great grandchildren, nieces Charlene Lindsey of California; Ruthie Jeffery and Dorothy Farrier Edney both of Mt. Pleasant and a host of nieces,  nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
