Reflections of Life
Baby Dear was born December 22, 1930 in Mt. Pleasant, Texas to Clarence and Martha Eaton (nee McGill). He peacefully passed life on April 24, 2018 at home in Mt. Pleasant, Texas.
He attended school in White Oak, Titus County, Texas. Like his older brothers, Clarence enlisted in the US Army. He enjoyed his military duty and was honorably discharged. After serving in the Army, Clarence returned to Mt. Pleasant and married, Quincy Mae Gallon. They were blessed with children. Clarence was employed by Lone Star Steel for numerous years before he retired. He was a bail bondsman for many years. Many nights he would get up out of his bed, after working twelve-hour shifts, to go and bail people out of jail. Clarence was a faithful member of White Oak Missionary Baptist Church where his father was among the founding members. There, he was ordained and served as a deacon and as church treasurer. In addition, Mr. Eaton was a member of the Brotherhood and sang in the choir for many years until his health began to fail. Clarence was an avid Dallas Cowboys and World Championship Wrestling fan. He enjoyed being outdoors, hunting, fishing, gardening and watching birds. He helped raise all his grandchildren and taught them about love (it’s always better to give than receive) understanding (always forgive people no matter what) the Lord will fight your battle.
Clarence was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter Luwunna Eaton; two sons Edward and Reggie Eaton; three grandsons Darrin Jerome Eaton, Markeeven Eaton and Timothy Haskins Jr.; special sister, whom he missed and talked about often, Vanessa. Also, his brothers Bill Eaton, L.W. Eaton, George Eaton, Clavis Eaton and Horace Eaton.
He is survived by his daughters. Mary L. Jeffery of Mt. Pleasant, Texas, Carolina L. Dillard of Houston, Texas, Sendie L. Adams (Earl) of Texarkana, Texas, Ozie L. Goodlow (Allen) of Sulphur Spring, Texas, Stephanie A. Eaton, Mt. Pleasant, Texas, Tawunna A. Eaton- Bates (George) of Mt. Pleasant, Texas. Two sons Timothy and Clarence D. Eaton of Mt. Pleasant, Texas; grandchildren, Kendall, TaSandra, Robert, Jorross, Nicole, Trinka, ShaToyia, ReNya, Dameon, Devontae, Caron, Tristian, Rebecca and Alexis; one sister-in-law Ollie Mae Eaton, and a host of nieces and nephews, cousins, other relatives, church family and friends.
