James Arthur Byrd, Jr.

James Arthur Byrd Jr. was born July 9, 1950 to James A. Sr. and Florine LaRuth (Edney) Byrd.  He died, Friday, November 9, 2018.

In his earlier years, he attended Church of the Living God, Mt. Pleasant. He was a 1968 graduate Booker T. Washington High School, Mt. Pleasant.  After high school, he enrolled in the US Air Force where he served in England.  He worked at the VA Hospital and retired in 2015.

He was preceded in death by his mother.

He leaves to cherish his memories his father James A. Byrd, Sr.; a daughter Tamika Simmons; two sisters Debra Byrd and Yolanda Byrd; a longtime friend Clara Fowler all of Dallas, Texas and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
