Jane Mildred Lloyd

She was born to Lee Wilkerson and Rhodie Boyd on October 11, 1930 in Pittsburg, Texas.  She died, peacefully,  at home on Tuesday, April 17, 2018

She was married to the late Rev. Dempsey Lloyd.  She was the Elect Lady for many years at Taylor Chapel A.M.E. Church, Paradise A.M.E. Church, Ebenezer A.M.E. Church, Rock Island, Johnson Chapel A.M.E. Church, and St. Paul A.M.E. Church.

Jane Mildred was a loving mother to all her children and grandchildren. She possessed grace and humility and loved the Lord and her family with all her heart. She will be remembered for the quiet dignity that she displayed, a zest for life, and the love and wisdom she shared with others. Mildred, as she loved to be called, had a quiet spirit and was kind and friendly to everyone.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Rhodie Boyd, father Lee Wilkerson, her husband Dempsey Lloyd; her sons Marion Jones and Rudie Jones; daughters Carolyn Jones and Barbette Lloyd; one brother Jimmy Wilkerson.

Mildred leaves a full and rich family to cherish her memory and continue a legacy of love and service: two sons and a daughter-in-law Milton and Martha Gholston of Killeen, Texas, Michael Lloyd of Texarkana, Texas; three daughters and a son-in-law Crystal Lloyd Harrison of Pittsburg, Texas; Glenda (Lloyd) and Kenneth Defusco of Longview, Texas; Hazel Lloyd Richmond of Pittsburg, Texas; she will be forever loved and treasured by her 15 grandchildren and 28 great grandchildren, her life legacy will be continued by her 2 great great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
