Janet Bernice (White) Smith

Janet Bernice White Smith, was born January 15, 1947 in Mt. Pleasant Texas to Matthew and Janice (McClarron) White. She passed away on Wednesday, July 3, 2019 in Waxahachie.

Janet joined Sunset Baptist Church at an early age. While living in Waxahachie, she attended church in Red Oak at the Body of Christ Family Church.  She was a graduate of Booker T. Washington High School, Mt. Pleasant, Class of 1965.  Janet attended Jarvis Christian College where she met the love of her life.  She retired from AIG where she worked in Accounts Receivable.  Janet was a fanatic about baking and antiques.  She loved being with her grandchildren. She was a loving and caring wife, mother and grandmother. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, Matthew and Janice, her brother Matthew “Skip” White, several aunts and uncles.

Janet leaves to cherish her memories her husband of 52 years Yeury F. Smith of Waxahachie, Texas; two daughters Tanya M. Smith of Denton, Texas;  Yolanda F. Smith of Grand Prairie, Texas; four grandchildren Britian D. Jones of Waxahachie, Texas, Ayala J. Montgomery and Courtland M. Montgomery both of Grand Prairie, Texas; Morgan T. Davis of Denton, Texas; two godchildren and their spouses Tambra and  Greg Wooldridge of Ft. Worth, Texas, Carlton and Machel Mason of Anna, Texas; two god grandchildren Taryn Scott and Ty Scott both of Ft. Worth, Texas;  a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
