Joy Dell Doddy

She was born in Mt. Pleasant, Texas on June 3, 1939 to Edd Sr. and Earie (Howard) Rockwell.   She was a graduate of Booker T. Washington School and worked as an LVN at the Mt. Pleasant Hospital and Clinic for over 40 years before retiring.  She was a member of Sheppard Street Church of Christ.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 24 years, Clarence Doddy, her parents Edd Sr. and Earie Rockwell, four brothers Amos Rockwell, Sr., Arthur Rockwell, Sr., Grover Rockwell, Sr., Edd Rockwell, Jr., one sister Rosie Woodson, two sisters-in-law Josie Rockwell and Lodie Rockwell.

She leaves to cherish her memories and to celebrate her life, her son and daughter-in-law  Chad and Heather Doddy of Texarkana, Texas; three daughters Paula Mitchell of Mt. Pleasant, Texas, Rhonda Pope and Shonda Stiger both of Lancaster, Texas; seven grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren; two sisters Dorothy Barrier and Ollie Eaton both of Mt. Pleasant, Texas; one brother and sister-in-law Richard J. and Fannie Rockwell of Mt. Pleasant, Texas; brother-in-law Vivian Charles Doddy; sisters-in-law Hattie Rockwell and Dora Rockwell both of Mt. Pleasant, Texas; special persons Martha Bryson, her niece,  loved like a sister,  of Mt. Pleasant, Texas and Mary Woods, loved like a daughter, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
