Mary Kathryn Boyd

She was born in Dalby Springs, Texas on June 24, 1925 to Taul and Ella Mae (McGowan) Petty.  Mary passed away, peacefully, at home on Friday, November 10, 2017 in Naples, Texas.    

She attended school in Bowie County, Texas.  Mary loved the Lord. She accepted Christ and united with the Cottrell Chapel CME (Norris Samuel Curry) Church, Naples.  She later united with the Gethsemane Missionary Baptist Church, Naples where she served in the Mission Society, was a deaconess, the Hospitality Department and served wherever she was needed.  She was a faithful member until her health failed. Mary worked many years for the Fulcher family.  She retired in 1989, after many years, as a Line Inspector, from Day and Zimmerman Ammunition Plant, Texarkana, Texas.  Her passion was faith, family and food.

She was preceded in death by her father and mother, her beloved husband of 42 years B.J. Boyd, her daughter Beverly Daniels, her sister Willie Pearl (Bearl) Boyd and her god daughter Callie Robinson.

She leaves to cherish lasting memories, her daughters Linda Kelly of Omaha, Texas; Joyce Boyd of Mesquite, Texas; Stephanie Boyd of Texarkana, Texas;  a brother (in-law)  Monticue Boyd, Jr. of Dallas, Texas; 14 grandchildren Jackie, Wesley, LaTonya (Raymond, I), Courtney (Meaghen), Rashad, Chelsea, Denton, LaToya, Julie, Chase, Marcus (Mechelle), Shawn (Lillian), Arlander (Monica) and Jakesia; 24 great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren; special nephew Paul Petty (Rochelle) of Enid, OK; Aunt Shirley McGowan Owens; god daughter Sally Buford of Naples, Texas; God-son Scottie Huey of Oklahoma City, OK; and a host of  nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
