Psalm 149:4 "For the LORD takes delight in his people; he crowns the humble with victory."
Bobby Gene Davis was born and raised in Mt. Pleasant, Texas to the parents of the Harry James Davis and Cleo J. Bryant Davis. Bobby had a love for people and for laughter, he was a loving brother, uncle, cousin, step-father and friend.
Bobby united with Mt. Olive Baptist Church at an early age. He was a 1965 graduate of Booker T. Washington High School. Shortly after graduating from high school, he served in the U.S. Army. After his service, he moved to Dallas, Texas where he retired from Exxon Mobil after working there for 35 years. Bobby received many awards with this company including earning their prestigious “Million Mile Safe Driver” award. He spent his latter days in Mt. Pleasant.
Bobby departed this life peacefully after many long illnesses. He was called home to rest the morning of August 2, 2020. Preceding Bobby in death was his Father and Mother, one brother, one sister Sandra Diane French and one step-son.
Bobby leaves to cherish his memory; his sister Nancy G. Davis (Leonard Sanders); a niece, Twillikki “Twill” Davis Young; a nephew, Mark Christopher “Fly” Wallace (Angie) and great nephew and nieces, Nicholus Young; Christian, Daniel and Grace Wallace; special cousins Toleda Wright (Dan); Lola Spearman (La Vern); Doris Ross Gee, Kevin Hatcher (Jennifer); brother-in-law Londell French; special friend Judy Green Brown and Brayden; life-long friends Sam Dudley and Harold Bryson; helping hand Dooley and a host of cousins, relatives and friends.
John 16:22 "So with you: Now is your time of grief, but I will see you again and you will rejoice, and no one will take away your joy."
