Bobby Joe (Poopie) Franklin was born on October 17, 1937 to the parentage of Cleveland Franklin Sr. and Ida Carol (Emery) Franklin of Daingerfield, Texas. He confessed Christ at an early age, and united with Mt. Moriah Baptist Church. He attended school in the Mt. Moriah School District until the family moved to Ladonia, Texas where he continued his education. Bob began working at a young age after the family moved to Roxton, Texas. He continued to work upon moving to Mangum, Oklahoma and worked until his health failed him. Bob was a lovable person. He would help anyone in need. And he loved him some Mangum, Oklahoma. On Monday, July 17, 2023 at 11:00 am, Bob got his call, and he answered. He fell asleep in the arms of Jesus and transitioned from Earth to Glory. He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, Cleveland Franklin, Sr., and Ida Carol Franklin; siblings, Claudie L. Williams, Ruby L. Williams, Marshall Godbolt, James Curtis Franklin, Larry Tom Franklin, Cleveland Franklin Jr., Clarence Smith, Carl Lawrence Franklin. Those left to cherish his precious memories are his son, Gary Franklin Sr. (Susan) of Oklahoma; three grandsons, Gary Jamiel Franklin, Michael Jerome Franklin, Gary Franklin Jr, four sisters, Hazel (Eugene) Smith of Midland, Texas, Letha Patt of Dallas, Texas, Joyce Patt and Vivian Barber of Daingerfield, Texas; Joe Earl Franklin of Roxton, Texas, Joe Evans (Cynthia) Franklin of Daingerfield, Texas. And a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
