Dorothy was born in Titus County on April 16, 1927 to Ed and Eria Rockwell.
She was a member of Sheppard Street Church of Christ. She loved working in her yard and planting flowers. In her earlier years, she was a licensed beautician and worked at a local salon. She retired from the Mt. Pleasant Independent School District after 40 years of service.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Melvin Barrier, four brothers Arthur Rockwell, Amos Rockwell, Ed Rockwell Jr., Grover Rockwell, two sisters Joy Dell Doddy and Rosie Woodson.
She leaves to cherish her memories her daughter and son-in-law Marilyn and Wright Johnson Jr. of Mt. Pleasant, Texas; son Louie Harper of Dallas, Texas; grandchildren Charity Jeffery and her husband Bill of Mt. Pleasant, Texas; Justin Johnson and his fiancé Erica of San Antonio, Texas, Bernard Harper, Joshua Harper, Sylvia Harper all of Dallas, Texas; great grandchildren Brylen Jeffery, Xavier Johnson, Jeremiah Johnson and Levi Johnson; brother Richard James Rockwell, sister Ollie Mae Eaton both of Mt. Pleasant; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, friends.
