Eslene (Stern) Fleming

Eslene Stern Fleming was born February 3, 1931 to Pearlie and Buster Stern in Daingerfield, Texas. She had five brothers and four sisters. She was residing in Banning, California where she departed on November 24, 2021.

Eslene married Gentle Lee Fleming in the late 1940’s and moved to Mt. Pleasant, Texas. She then became a life-long member of the Sheppard Church of Christ. Eslene gave birth to 16 children. When she wasn’t in church, she enjoyed spending time with family and close friends. She also enjoyed fishing and sewing in her spare time.

She leaves to cherish her memories; a sister Pearlie Mae Dunn of Ft. Worth, Texas; six sons Leon Fleming, Jimmy Fleming and a daughter in law Sandra Fleming all of Mt. Pleasant, Texas, Earnest Fleming of Nashville, TN, Larry Fleming and daughter in law Carolyn of Garland, Texas, James Paul Fleming of Banning, CA, Jason Fleming of Barstow, CA; three daughters Geraldine Fleming Laury and son in law Eddie Laury of San Diego, CA, Rutheeta Fleming Churchwell and son in law West Churchwell of Laughton, OK, Teresa Fleming of Banning, CA;  thirty-one grandchildren and a host of great grand and great- great grandchildren as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and longtime friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband Gentle Fleming, her parents Pearlie and Buster Stern; three daughters Linda, Gayneitha and Tawonna. five brothers and three sisters. two son’s Rickey Lee and Lee Junior Fleming; and special friends Claudia Faye  Hurndon and Josie May Rockwell.
