Frances Eileen Burgess, affectionately known as Eileen by her family, was born on September 13, 1948, in Mount Pleasant, Texas to Herbert and Catherine Burgess. She transitioned peacefully on May 3, 2026.
Eileen was born with a moderate intellectual disability. In her early years and into her teenage life, she could often be found outside, joyfully and mischievously chasing her cousins as they playfully ran from her. As time passed, due to the side effects of medication, she lost her ability to walk and experienced further intellectual challenges. Nevertheless, Eileen remained able to express many of her needs, often using some of her favorite words. Above all, she loved her family deeply.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Herbert and Catherine Burgess; her aunt, Dossie Bryson; and her cousin, Henry Godbolt Jr.
Eileen leaves to cherish her memory her aunt, Constance Whitmore of Dallas, Texas; her special cousin, Elaine (Marcellus Jr.) Nelson of Plano, Texas; along with a host of cousins and extended family members.
A special thank you is extended to the staff of Dallas Rehabilitation Center, Methodist Dallas Medical Center, and VITAS Hospice of Texas for their compassionate care.
Eileen will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
