Gwendolyn Renee Thomas

Gwendolyn Renee Thomas was born May 26, 1957 in Mt. Pleasant, Texas to Zettie B. and Johnnie Mae (Neal) Thomas. 

She was a graduate of Pittsburg High School, Class of 1975 and was a member of the First Church of God in Christ, Mt. Pleasant.  Gwendolyn was a dedicated mother first and foremost. She treasured her child and embraced every moment with her. She especially loved her role as Nana. Her vivacious personality always made people around her laugh. She made friends everywhere she went and her smile was contagious.

Gwendolyn was a compassionate spirit whose passion was caring for others. She spent the latter years of her life working as a home care attendant and valued her relationships with each of those persons like family. She was a loving mother and grandmother whose world revolved around her being a guidepost and a light in their lives.
 

She was preceded in death by her father Zettie B. Thomas, her brother Brian Lee Bain Thomas, her sister Debra Grant. 

Gwendolyn leaves to cherish her memories her daughter Destiny Brady and granddaughter BrookeLynn Brady; her mother Johnnie Mae Thomas all of Pittsburg, Texas; two brothers Vanzettie Thomas of Mt. Pleasant, Texas and Gregory Thomas of Pittsburg, Texas; nieces Devia Rodgers of Anna, Texas, Raven Thomas of Longview, Texas, Yuquchessia Grant Christian and nephew Michael Grant both of Mt. Pleasant, Texas; special friends GeNora Gilbert and De’Juan Osborne both of Enid, Oklahoma; and a host of cousins, other relatives and friends.
