Harold Shaw

Obituary

Harold Shaw was born October 3, 1932 to Alonzo and Viola (Traylor) Shaw in Mt. Pleasant, Texas.

Harold was a member of St. Paul A.M.E. where he served faithfully for many years.  He worked for the Mt. Pleasant Meat Processing Plant for 40 plus years before retiring.  

Harold was known to everyone in the community as Papa and for handing out candy, juices, and milk to all the children. Everyone that drove the 1200 block of East 8th Street in Mt. Pleasant knew him as the elderly man that waved from his porch with that big smile. 

He was preceded in death by parents, his wife of 60 years Mildred, his sister Margaret Louise, grandmother Mary Jane Traylor and aunt Willie Mae Crowder. 

He leaves to cherish his memory four daughters Mildred Ann (Stan) Veasley, Shirley (Brad) Finley, Hazel (Rudell) Johnson, Betsy (Patrick) Jones all of Mt. Pleasant, Texas; 10 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, three great great grandchildren and a host of cousins, other relatives and friends.  Special thank you to Cypress Basin Hospice, Dorothy Taylor, Melissa Hayes, Calendra Price, Cassandra Adams, Corey Shaw, Patrick S.
