Horace Jr. Linwood was born August 12, 1942 to Luke and Winnie (Douglas) Linwood in Cason Texas. He attended school in Daingerfield. In his early years, he was a member at Shady Grove Baptist Church, Cason and after moving to Mt. Vernon, he attended Denton Baptist Church.
He retired from the City of Mt. Vernon, Texas.
He was preceded in death by his father and mother Luke and Winnie, his wife Alice (Roberson) Linwood, his grandparents, his three brothers Randolph Linwood, Preston Linwood, Willie Linwood, two sisters Lessie B. Fridia and Clara Mae Linwood.
Horace leaves to cherish his memory his wife Bonnie Linwood of Leesburg, Texas; two daughters Yolanda Linwood Stanton (Patrick), Marcie Linwood, all of Mt. Vernon, Texas; son Horace Byrd of Longview, Texas; grandchildren My’Shaila Stanton, My’Keivia Stanton, Ty’Rese Z. Linwood, Ty’Rodge L. Linwood, Ty’Raven A. Linwood, Horaycio Byrd, Hermajesty C. Byrd; great grandchild Abrie Linwood; two stepchildren Lorraine Bibbs, and Wayne Byrd; his sister Patricia A. Linwood of Cason, Texas; brothers and sisters-in-law James A. Linwood of Omaha, Texas, James H. and Wilma Linwood of Mt. Pleasant, Texas, James Linwood Jr. of Cason, Texas, Billy Glen Linwood and Cordelia Irving of Pittsburg, Texas, Billy and Kay Doddy Cason, Texas, and a host of uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, along with his fishing buddy Willie Epps and friends.
