Jessie Mae Robinson
1922-2019
Jessie was born in Omaha, Texas on May 13, 1922 to Dude and Annie Bell (Gray) Johnson. Jessie Mae departed this life, after a short Illness, on Wednesday, March 5, 2019.
Jessie attended elementary and middle school in Omaha, Texas. She united with the church at an early age.
In July of 1950 she married Clarence Robinson. She was a devoted and loving wife until he passed in November 2010. She was also a person who cared about the welfare of others and through the years she took in several relatives and they became a part of her family. Jessie knew her way around a kitchen, she was a very good cook and had no equal when it came to making a “Sock It To Me” cake. During the Vietnam War, Jessie contributed to the nation’s defense effort by working at the Red River Army Depot for several years. Her nephew, Jerry Wells, considered her his second mother and often stayed with Jessie and Clarence while attending college. Jessie loved to fish and often went fishing with her sister-in-law and Jerry. She was a down to earth person with a great sense of humor and was a lot of fun to be around. She touched the lives of a lot of people in a positive way and will be missed.
She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; her brothers: Jerry D. Walker; Robert Johnson; James A (Ray) Johnson; and Roosevelt Johnson and her sister, Dudley Mae Taylor.
She leaves to cherish her memories her brothers Thomas Johnson of McKinney,Texas, J. D. Johnson of Longview, Texas; her sisters Mary E. Glaster, Alice Douglas, and Gladys Garrison all of Dallas, Texas; a special nephew Jerry D. Wells (Kay), Gresham, Oregon and many other friends and relatives.
