Lee-Horace Henderson was born September 9, 1946 in Dallas, Texas to the parents of Vernon H. Sr. and Jessie B. (Wilkerson) Henderson.
Lee was received his elementary education in Dallas and the family later moved to Oakland, California where he was raised and where he received his middle school and high school education. He participated on the Varsity Football team, a sport he truly enjoyed. Lee was a 1964 graduate of Oakland Technical High. Immediately after graduating high school, he enlisted in the United States Army. He did two tours in the Vietnam war where he was in the Paratrooper Unit. He was responsible for sewing and repairing the Parachutes. He served for 11 years. After returning home to Oakland, he became employed with the United Postal Service in Oakland. Lee resided in California until he relocated back to Mt. Pleasant, Texas in 2005 to be with his mother and brother.
He was preceded in death by his father and mother, his brother Vernon H. Henderson, II; several aunts and uncles.
He leaves to cherish his memories his daughter Felicia Leggett of Mt. Pleasant, Texas; two grandsons Christopher Leggett of New Jersey, Robert Leggett of Delaware; five great grandchildren; a nephew Vernon H. Henderson, III; his uncle and aunt Preston and Essie Wilkerson of Dallas, Texas; special friend Major Sessions of New Jersey and a host of cousins, other relatives and friends.
