Margaret Ree (Brown) Brooks

Margaret Ree Brooks was born March 6, 1930 in Daingerfield, Texas to Mottie Q. and Pettie M. (Thomas) Brown. Margaret passed away, peacefully, at home on February 27, 2023.

She was a member of the Sheppard Street Church of Christ.  She loved flowers and working in her garden.  She enjoyed spending time with her family.  Her daughter Shirley was her sidekick, they went everywhere together; shopping, garage sale hopping and visiting with her sister, Mary Jane, on Sunday’s.  Margaret had a strong faith and enjoyed attending church.  She retired after serving many years at Pilgrim’s Pride.  

She was preceded in death by her father, mother, her husband Hubert Brooks, two brothers Oliver, James Alters; three sisters Bloomie, Ollie Mae and Argie Mae.

She leaves to cherish her memories her daughter Shirley Roberts of Wake Village, Texas; two sons and a daughter-in-law Clarence and Cheryl Brooks, Kenneth Brooks all of Mt. Pleasant; eight grandchildren Kathryn, Capt. Kertrick “Drico” Brooks, Quentin, Diamian, Alyssa, Anisha, Adrian, Scott; ten great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; her sister Mary Jane Smith of Cason; brother-in-law and his wife Rev. John and Ann Brooks of Pittsburg, Texas; adopted daughter Quettia Dudley; special friend Ollie Mae Eaton; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
