Martha Mae (Johnson) Gaither

Martha M. Johnson was born November 27, 1948 to Lorenzo and Clytie (Rundles) Johnson in Mt. Pleasant, Texas. 

Martha attended school in California.  In her earlier years, she attended church in Mt. Pleasant at Cottrell Chapel C.M.E. Church.  She met her love, and they joined in marriage and together had four beautiful girls.  Martha was a hairstylist to everyone including celebrities.  She taught and mentored the young lady who is now a top 10 celebrity stylist.  She loved helping people including single parents and the homeless.  She would often invite people into her home if they had nowhere to live.  She was very giving.  She loved dancing, music and loved to sing to her four girls.  As a girl, she loved playing dress up and would dress up, only to run outside and get dirty.  She loved wearing make-up and pretty things.  Her hobby was sewing but her true hobby was her four girls.  She loved dressing them up, making their clothes, styling their hair and makeup.   She loved her children and grandchildren.

Receiving her at the gate are her father and mother, Lorenzo and Clytie Johnson; her grandson Chaz Lamar Gaither; granddaughters Tatiana Linell Carlson, Justice Nevaeh Osborne; her brother Lorenzo Johnson, Jr.; her sister Gloria Myers. 

She leaves to cherish her memories and to celebrate her life, her four daughters and three sons-in-law Lecia Gaither of Arlington, Texas, Sharon and Terence Hartfield of Downey, California, Clytie and Denard Wilson of Sacramento, California, Treshawn and Byron Wade of Slidell, Louisiana; 8 grandchildren and a host of great grandchildren, along with her nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
