Morgan McKenzie Au ‘Briel Brooks
Morgan McKenzie Au ‘Briel Brooks was born on October 8, 2004, in Sulphur Springs, Texas, to Sheniqua Dar’Briel Brooks and Phillip Kirk. She transitioned from this life on June 21, 2026, at the age of 21.
Morgan was a faithful member of Sunset Baptist Church in Mount Pleasant, Texas, where she joyfully sang in the church choir. She graduated from Mount Pleasant High School with the Class of 2023. During her high school years, Morgan was actively involved in numerous extracurricular activities, serving as a cheerleader and taking part in volleyball, basketball, track, and soccer.
Following graduation, Morgan pursued her dream of becoming a nurse by attending UT Tyler’s nursing program. She was looking forward to graduating in May 2027 and dedicating her life to caring for others.
Morgan had a vibrant spirit and a love for life. She enjoyed cooking, shopping, traveling, and was always planning her next adventure. She treasured the time she spent with her family and friends, creating memories that will be cherished forever.
Morgan was preceded in death by her beloved mother, Sheniqua Dar’Briel Brooks; her grandparents, Teresa Riley and James Ray Kirk; her great-grandparents, Margretta and Rev. John M. Brooks, Billy Ralph Davis, and Charlie Marie Payne; her uncles, Terry Kirk, Billy Brooks, Clyde Payne, Billy Jewel Davis, and Trent Davis; and her aunt, Diane Davis.
She leaves to cherish her precious memories her loving father and his wife Phillip and Stacey Kirk of Longview; grandparents, Perry and Donna Brooks of Mount Pleasant, Texas; her brother, Tywon Walker of Mount Pleasant, Texas; stepbrother Jacori Denmark, stepsister Jalena Denmark of Longview, Texas; three nephews and one niece; her aunts and uncles, Brian Kirk of Arkansas, Gwen and Donnie Harvey of Mount Pleasant, Texas; Lavean and Stacey Brooks of Little Elm, Texas; Mary and Joe Castorena; Frances Hooks; Shirley Brown; Wanda Payne; Larry Davis; Rev. Carl and Katrina Davis; and Michael and Hope Davis. She also leaves her special aunt and uncle, Telesa, and John Morgan, Chris Grundy; her cousins, Ashley Brown, Shay and Kyen Morgan, Martha Gutierrez, and Michelle Gutierrez; her special friends, Aaron Lewis and Shakedra Gilstrap, Sherry Hargrave, and Breasia Hargrave; along with a host of other beloved relatives, church family, classmates, and friends.
Though Morgan’s life was brief, it was filled with love, laughter, faith, and purpose. Her beautiful smile, compassionate heart, and joyful spirit will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
