Patricia Ann (Miller) Cornelius

Patricia Ann (Miller) Cornelius was born on July 16, 1954, in Mt. Pleasant, Texas to Eugene and Mary Edna (Wooten) Miller. 

She attended school in Mt. Pleasant and was a graduate of the class of 1972 from Mt. Pleasant High School.  She graduated Cum Laude from Prairie View A&M University with a B.S. in Business Education.  While at Prairie View, she joined the Eta Beta chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.  She worked as a computer security analyst for energy companies in Houston, such as Texas Eastern, but eventually retired from Duke Energy, Houston, Texas.  While in Houston, she attended Brentwood Baptist Church and after returning home to Mt. Pleasant, she became a member of the Mt. Gilmore Baptist Church.  She enjoyed volunteering with Angel Tree. Her hobbies included reading, scrabble, pinochle and spades, but most of her joy came from connecting with friends and enjoying her family.  Every year she loved traveling with her high school classmates and friends which was known as “Gathering of the Friends”. 

Patricia was preceded in death by her father and mother Eugene and Mary Miller; her brother, Rickey Eugene Miller.

Patricia  leaves to cherish her memories, her husband of 44 years Ronald W. Cornelius of Mt. Pleasant, Texas; her son Rodney Cornelius of Mt. Pleasant, Texas; her daughter and son-in-law Dr. Melani and Calvin Sanders of McDonough, GA; two grandchildren Calvin Sanders, II and William Sanders also of McDonough, GA; two sisters and a brother-in-law Shearlyn Best of Manor, Texas, LaWyanda and Joe Prince of Mt. Pleasant, Texas; and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends
