Shirley Jean (Goodlow) Fountain

Remembering Her Life

Shirley Jean (Goodlow) Fountain was born September 14, 1950, in Mt. Pleasant, Texas to Willie B. and Lula Goodlow. 

Shirley attended Booker T. Washington High School, Mt. Pleasant.  She was a member of Cottrell Chapel C.M.E. Church, Mt. Pleasant.  She was employed for many years at the Focus Care Nursing Home before retiring.  She loved family gatherings and spending time with her grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her father Willie B. Goodlow Sr., her mother Lula Lee Goodlow; her daughter Mary Hill, her son Edward Wayne Hill; her brother Sammie Goodlow.

She leaves to cherish her memories her husband of 45 years Preston Fountain Sr.;  two daughters and son-in-law Yolanda Hill Howard (Tracy), Roshanda Hill both of Mt. Pleasant, Texas; two sons and daughter-in-law Keice Hill (Leenell) of Pittsburg, Texas, Preston Fountain Jr. of Mt. Pleasant, Texas; three grandchildren raised like her own Andrieka McNary, Trentson Hill, Tracy Hodge Jr. all of Mt. Pleasant; 12 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren;  three brothers Willie B. Goodlow Jr., Billy C. Goodlow, Robert L. Goodlow all of Mt. Pleasant, Texas; three sisters and a brother-in-law Betty J. Holloman (Tim), Ruby D. Goodlow all of Mt. Pleasant, Texas; Bobbie Sue Youngblood of Houston, Texas; one aunt Ruby Jones of Greenville, Texas; special cousin Zola Buford, special friends Brenda Brumsey and Martha Shepherd all of Mt. Pleasant, Texas; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
