Stephenia Nance Obituary

Stephenia Lynnette “Stevie” Nance was born on November 9, 1958, in Mount Pleasant, Texas, to Robert Nathaniel Nance and Martha George Nance. She peacefully departed this life, leaving behind a legacy of love, compassion, and service.

A lifelong member of Mount Gilmore Missionary Baptist Church, Stevie accepted Christ at an early age and remained faithful to her church throughout her life. She attended schools in the Mount Pleasant Independent School District and continued her education at Texarkana College and the William Buchanan School of Nursing, earning both her LVN and RN licenses. For nearly 40 years, she faithfully served others through her nursing career, touching countless lives with her care, compassion, and dedication.

Stevie enjoyed traveling, learning about history, trying new foods, watching television, and spending time with family. She was a devoted mother to her daughter, Carrie Elizabeth Nance, and was known for her generous spirit, kindness, and joyful heart.

She was preceded in death by her father, Robert Nathaniel Nance; her brother, Russel Nathaniel Nance; her grandparents, Louie Belvet and Juanita George, Elizabeth and Cappie D. Rutherford, and Ollie F. and Vina Nance; and her great-grandparents, Ben and Carrie Carr and Lucretia and Ed Robinson.

She leaves to cherish her memory her daughter, Carrie Elizabeth Nance; her mother, Martha G. Nance; her brother, Robert G. Nance; nieces Jessica, Carmen, Raven, Tearani, Quinisha, and Journee; nephews Robert, Reginald, Russel, Jamari, and Jaiden; numerous great-nieces and great-nephews; her godson, Morris Dean Crowder, Jr.; her aunts Emma Jean, Herese, Ethel, Patsy, Annette, Vivian, Faye, and Geraldine; her uncles Louie Ben, Lynn, and Fred; along with a host of cousins, other relatives, and many dear friends.

Stevie’s gentle spirit, caring heart, and loving presence will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew and loved her.
