Tanya Monique Smith

Tanya Monique Smith was born September 18, 1967 to Yeury Frank and Janet Bernice (White) Smith in Mt. Pleasant, Texas.

Tanya was a member of the Morse Street Baptist Church, Denton, Texas where she was an active and faithful member.  While there, she served as an usher, served in the community outreach where she helped to  feed the hungry, and was active in the morning telephone prayer line.  She was a member there for over 30 years.  Tanya graduated from Mt. Pleasant High School Mt. Pleasant, Class of 1986 and went on to graduate from Texas Woman’s University with a BS degree.    Tanya worked as a Case Manager for MHMR for 23 years. 

She was preceded in death by her mother, Janet B. (White) Smith; her grandparents Janice and Matthew White, Yeury and Elma Smith; uncle Matthew “Skip” White, great grandmother Lucille Davis.

She leaves to cherish her memories her daughter Morgan Davis of Denton, Texas; her father Yeury F. Smith of Waxahachie, Texas; her partner Anthony Davis of Denton, Texas; two sisters Yolanda Smith of Grand Prairie, Texas; Tambra Wooldridge (Greg) of Ft. Worth, Texas; nephews Britian Jones, Courtland Montgomery, Ty Scott; nieces Ayala Montgomery, Taryn Scott; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends. She was a rare treasure, loved deeply and will be greatly missed.
