Vernis Nell Dillard

She was born January 28, 1938 in Cason, Texas to Willis and Ollie Mae (Brown) Nixon.  She passed away, peacefully, at home on Saturday, November 9, 2019. 

She was a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church and was a 1957 graduate of Booker T. Washington High School, Mt. Pleasant, where she was the drum major for all four years. She was employed with Day and Zimmerman, Inc., U.S. Steel/Lone Star Steel Company and Pittsburg ISD.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her son Clinton D. Dillard. 

She leaves to cherish her memories, her husband of 65 years Marshall Joe Dillard of Mt. Pleasant, Texas; her children and their spouses Mark and Rosalinda Dillard of Houston, Texas. Sheila Rogers of Vacaville, CA; Barry and Yolanda Dillard of Mt. Pleasant, Texas; Kymberly and Robin Harris of Cypress, Texas; her grandchildren Kendell Lashun Frederick, Jason Dillard, Chad Rogers, Salicia Ford, Nikki Dillard, Haily Harris, Heather Harris, Taylor Dillard, Jonathan Hightower, Jeniffer Torres, Victoria Kuykendahl; a host of great grandchildren; her brother Willis Nixon, Jr. of Mt. Pleasant, Texas; aunts Margaret Brooks of Mt. Pleasant, Texas and Mary Jane Smith of Cason, Texas and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
