Willie Charles Simpson was born in Fulbright, Texas on December 1, 1954 to Louis and Levella Simpson.
He grew up in Fulbright, Texas and at an early age he became a member of the New Silome Baptist Church of Fulbright. He later became a member of the Mt. Moriah Baptist Church where he was baptized on January 6, 2013. He was a graduate of Rivercrest High School where he was excellent in sports. After High school, Willie enlisted in the US Navy where he served 7 years before returning home. He worked 17 years for US Steel as a Welder before retiring. He was an avid fitness and exercise fan. He also loved to barbeque and would build his own weights and grills and loved spending time with his family.
He was preceded in death by his mother and father, four brothers Louis Simpson, Joe Simpson, Jerry Simpson, and William Simpson; three sisters Katherine Simpson, Bernice Simpson-Mayes, and Shirley Barr.
Willie leaves to cherish his memories his daughters Brittany Simpson (Korri), Nikki Buford all of Longview, Texas; five grandchildren Paris Simpson-Hurndon, Tori Buford, Tia Buford, Jansen Johnson, Bryson Turner; two sisters Darlene Mondane and Vella Mae Scales both of Fulbright, Texas; a special daughter Sarah “Sunshine” Evans of Daingerfield, Texas; two special grandchildren Chrishlyn (Cat) Boyd, Casey (C.J.) Jones and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
