Mildred Louise Bryan was born July 3, 1933 in Tenaha, Texas to M.C. and Lurline (Reed) Bussey. She passed away Sunday, February 21, 2016.
She was a faithful member of St. John Missionary Baptist Church, Tenaha, Texas, where she served as Church secretary. She was the secretary for the East Texas Bethel Association. She was graduate of Booker T. Washington High School, Tenaha, Texas; Prairie View A&M University, Prairie View, Texas; East Texas State University, Commerce, Texas. She earned her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Education. She began her teaching career at Turner High School in Carthage, Texas. Mildred was a retired Teacher, retiring in 2011from the Mt. Pleasant Independent School District after 53 years of service. She worked several years as a Librarian in the Carthage ISD and also worked at Booker T. Washington School in Mt. Pleasant. She met and married Robert Bryan on June 6, 1966 and to this union three beautiful girls were born.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Robert Bryan, her sister Joann Bering.
She leaves to cherish her memory, three daughters Felice Bryan of Mt. Pleasant, Texas; Demetria Bryan and Lemetria Bryan both of Dallas, Texas; one granddaughter Rianna Jeffery of Mt. Pleasant, Texas; a sister Virginia Bussey of Mt. Pleasant, Texas; three brothers Kenneth Dale Bussey of Dallas, Texas; Mitchell Bussey of San Diego, CA; Perry Bussey of Dallas, Texas; one niece Cassandra Bering of Ft. Worth, Texas; two nephews Aaron Roberts of Kansas City, MO; Joseph Bering of Houston, Texas; seven god grandchildren; a special cousin Jean Roland of Tenaha, Texas; and a host of cousins, other relatives and friends.
