I am very sad to learn of Mr. Stanley's passing. I spent a combined total of six years working for Hastings Entertainment, and providing Mr. Stanley with his favorite selection of music CDs. I left this area back in June, and unfortunately did not get the pleasure of serving him again before his passing. Mr. Stanley was indeed one of a kind. I always enjoyed his phone calls, and even more so the chances to visit with him in person when he could come to the store. Each call would last nearly an hour... me ensuring we had the cds he wanted, and Mr. Stanley and I talking about the finer points of life... such as and in his words "Cory, these young kids just don't know good music these days".. and boy is he correct. Prince, Whitney Houston, David Bowie The Motels, Pat Benetar, Blondie, Seal, Motley Crue, Bon Jovi... just to name of few that were always in Mr. Stanley's cue. Mr. Stanley was a good man and a unique soul. Makes me smile to know he's now getting the chance to hear Whitney sing, and rock out to David Bowie in person. My heart is with his family. Goodbye, Mr. Stanley... you will be truly missed.

Pope family, please accept our condolences on your loss: Jesus said “Happy are those who mourn, since they will be comforted.” (Matthew 5:4). We also keep going forward with a firm hope because 1 Corinthians 15:26 informs that soon “The last enemy, death, is to be brought to nothing.” The promises of God all come true

I got to know Stanley about 20 years ago when I did transportation for NETO.  I use to take him places and we became friends.  I remember he loved music and especially the Red Hot Chili Peppers!  After leaving NETO ever so often I would see him in Brookshires and he always gave me a big bear hug and always remembered who I was.  It made me feel good that he always remembered me and knew my name.  Praying for Stanley's family and sorry for your loss.
